An artists’ residency in the heart
of Bamff Wildland.

Burnieshed is an artist-run residency in the heart of Bamff Wildland, in North East Perthshire, Scotland.

In 2024 we ran a pilot programme of residencies and public events funded by Creative Scotland with artists Harvey Dimond, Leah Borromeo (and their child Riley), Julia Parks in collaboration with butterfly conservationist Patrick Cook, Katherine Fay Allan and Bebe Geen.

Beginning in summer 2024 the Burnieshed, a former game keeper’s cottage, has been restored by Nightingale Conservation, including the construction of a traditional timber frame outdoor toilet, shower and sauna. The building process will be completed in spring 2026.

Currently we are working to secure funding to support the further development of the residency. Please get in touch with us if you would like to visit or propose a project or collaboration.

Our dream is to offer artists the opportunity to rest, work and learn in this unique location, where many species are entangled. In a time of multiple crises, we want to help generate dialogue and action that is hopeful, joyous, radical and funny.

Burnieshed is run by Ane Lopez and George Finlay Ramsay.
